Mayor George C. Brown announced the City’s plans for its Great American Cleanup. The cleanup will take place on Saturday, April 24th. The City of Wilkes-Barre is looking for volunteer groups to participate, to clean up their neighborhoods.

Volunteer groups must call the Special Events Coordinator Patty Hughes at 570.208.4149 to register. During registration please provide the group leader's name and address and the expected number of volunteers. Registered groups will be provided with adequate garbage bags, safety vests, and gloves. Post-cleanup garbage pickup will be coordinated during registration. Groups must follow all current CDC and PA Department of Health COVID-19 guidelines.
