Rain, Thunderstorms Possible Monday In Rhode Island

Skies are expected to be clear in Rhode Island over the Independence Day holiday weekend.

PROVIDENCE, RI — Rhode Island residents have a wet week ahead, according to the National Weather Service. Rain chances ranging from 30 to 80 percent remain in the forecast through Thursday.

According to the Weather Service, rainfall amounts between a tenth and a quarter of an inch are possible Monday in Rhode Island. Thunderstorms are possible, and some patchy fog is expected after 3 p.m. Monday.

Showers and thunderstorms will continue through Wednesday night with rainfall amounts between one-half and three-quarters of an inch on Tuesday and chances of thunderstorms after 1 p.m. on Wednesday.

The Weather Service reports chances of rain lighten on Thursday with a 30 percent of showers between noon and 2 p.m. The Weather Service on Thursday calls for mostly sunny skies with a high near 83 degrees.

Moving into the July 4th holiday weekend, skies are expected to be mostly clear with mild winds and temperatures ranging from the high 60s to the low 80s.
