Barrington High To Host Webinar On Restructuring Studies
The webinar will take place via Zoom on Thursday, April 1 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
BARRINGTON, RI — Barrington High School has announced that it has begun to restructure its program of studies to promote student well-being and learning and will host a webinar Thursday, April 1 to explain the details of the changes.
The webinar, which will take place via Zoom from 7 to 8:30 p.m., will provide information on the short-term and long-term changes being made to the high school program of studies, provide updates and clarifications on frequently asked questions, and provide and opportunity for participants to ask further questions.
"Barrington Public Schools has a mission to empower ALL students to excel in character, citizenship, collaboration, creativity, communication, and critical thinking to positively impact the future," said the district in a news release Wednesday. "We also have a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. With these goals and commitments in mind, the high school has begin to restructure its program of studies."

The webinar will feature over 10 panelists, including Dr. Katie Novak, an author, educator, and national expert on Universal Design for Learning, Barrington High School Principal Joseph Hurley, Special Education Chair Drew Genetti, and Superintendent Michael Messore, and a sample of the studies used in the restructuring process will also be presented to show how educational research supports the changes.
