Barrington High Students Earn RI Scholastic Art Awards

The Barrington High students' award-winning work is on display through Sunday at Rhode Island College.

BARRINGTON, RI — Jessica Wan earned two top awards at the 2020 Rhode Island Scholastic Art Awards this past weekend. Wan won in the category of painting and in the category of art portfolio.

Artwork will be on display through Sunday at the Chazan Family Gallery at Alex & Ani Hall on the campus of Rhode Island College. See the full gallery here.

Wan's work "Swimming Thoughts" was the winner for the senior AP studio art 2D student. Wan's work "Dreamscapes" won the Gold Key award in the art portfolio category.

Senior Graciana Angelini's work "Beach Boys" was the winner in the photography category for the senior digital imagining student.

Senior Katelyn Deangelis' work "Tea Rex" was the Silver Key winner in the ceramics category for the senior ceramics 2 student.

Senior Aila Balia's work "Feelings of Unworthiness" was the Silver Key winner in the art portfolio category for the AP studio art 2D student.

Senior Lauren Jay's work "Ambivalence" was the Gold Key winner in the photography category for the digital imagery student.

Sophomore Sophia Hall's work "Dad" received an honorable mention in the drawing & illustration category for the drawing 1 student.

Sophomore Madison Breiding's work "Hands of Time" received an honorable mention in the photography category for the digital imaging student.

Junior Emily Bianco's work "Ghosts of Christmas Past" received a Gold Key Award in the photography category for the digital imaging student.

Senior Phoebe Szosz's work "Blakely" received an honorable mention in the drawing & illustration category for the AP studio art 2D student.

Sophomore Sarah Catani's work "Sea Otter Feeding" received an honorable mention in the ceramics and glass category for the ceramics 1 student.

Senior Anna Coogan's work "Inner Child" earned a Gold Key award in the drawing & illustration category for the AP 2D art & design student.
