Barrington Library Reopens To Public With Restrictions
Those entering the library will be limited to 30 minutes inside the building with curbside pickup still available.
BARRINGTON, RI — The Barrington Public Library is welcoming the public through its doors for the first time in three months this week.
The library will be open Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays with a maximum of 18 people allowed in the library space, and a 30-minute limit of time spent inside. Curbside pickup is still available.
The hope is that the continued easing of restrictions as the state's economy reopens amid the coronavirus health emergency will allow for greater and longer access in upcoming weeks.

The library will be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays. Face coverings are mandated. In the event someone cannot wear a face covering due to physical or emotional reasons, staff will attempt to work with that person to find a solution that works best for the customer and those inside the library.
As with curbside pickup, pre-ordering materials for pickup in the library to allow staff time to gather your items and have them ready for you is advised.

Since the state's book delivery service is not running at full capacity yet, there will be a limit of 10 items you can put on hold from other libraries. The items placed on hold before the library closed will count toward the 10 items, so there may be a need to prioritize the list.
Items can be returned at the outside bookdrop and will be held in quarantine for at least 48 hours before being reentered into circulation. Late fees are still suspended.
Meeting rooms remain closed at this time. There will be four computers available for public use with appointments accepted.
The library's free public wireless is available in the parking lot.
A self-service copier is available, along with printers and fax machine. The notary public is not available at this time.
