Barrington Little League Opens World Series Play Friday Morning
The Rhode Island state champion will play Virginia at 10 a.m. after Thursday's game was postponed due to rain in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
BARRINGTON, RI — Barrington Little League manager Chris Promades said on Wednesday his team was "chomping at the bit" to get back out on the field following Saturday's victory in the New England Championships title game. The Barrington players had to wait a little longer than expected for their Little League World Series opener in Williamsport, Pennsylvania after their opener was postponed due to rain on Thursday — with the game pushed to 10 a.m. Friday morning against Virginia.
Rain hit Williamsport Thursday afternoon with the first pitch of the afternoon start delayed. At around 5 p.m. all games for the rest of the day were postponed.
