Barrington Public Library Ends Face Mask Requirement
Masks are still required for kids ages 2-12 and visitors who are not fully vaccinated.
BARRINGTON, RI — Barrington Public Library no longer requires fully vaccinated visitors to wear face masks, reflecting a shift in the local pandemic response.
The policy change was made on June 17 in accordance with state and CDC guidelines. Children ages 2-12 and visitors who are not fully vaccinated will still be required to wear masks.
As of June 7, the library has also made the following changes to its COVID-19 safety policies:

- No time limit on library visits
- Building capacity restrictions lifted
- Computer sessions go back to two hours (one hour for guest passes)
- Comfortable seating is restored with a new, quiet reading & study area
- Newspaper and magazine browsing returns
- More study areas open on the Main Floor
- Books are no longer quarantined so you will receive your holds faster
The library will make further changes over the next few weeks, with curbside pickup ending on Saturday, June 19 and fines for overdue items being reinstated on July 1. Fines accrued from March 14, 202o to June 30, 2021 will be waived.
