Barrington Reschedules After St. Raphael Withdraws From Tourney

The Barrington girls basketball team will face South Kingstown Sunday after St. Raphael withdrew due to a coronavirus quarantine.

BARRINGTON, RI — The Barrington High girls basketball team's next tournament basketball game will be Sunday against South Kingstown at Rhode Island College after St. Raphael Academy withdrew from this year's event due to a coronavirus quarantine at the school. The game will be Sunday at 3 p.m.

St. Raphael Academy, which is connected to the state's two confirmed cases of the virus, announced that it would cancel its planned trip to Spain over April vacation. The school remains closed, and classes are expected to resume as normal on March 16.

"Please join us in our support for the St. Raphael's community, as we welcome them back at the end of the self-quarantine for their identified students," Barrington Director of Athletics George Finn said.
