Barrington Seeking Volunteers To Serve On Boards And Commissions

There are currently 19 open positions across five boards and commissions.

BARRINGTON, RI — The Barrington Town Council is currently looking for volunteers to serve on multiple boards and commissions.

A total of 19 positions are currently vacant across five boards, with 11 of those positions on the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee.

The DEI Committee is an advisory group founded to "ensure a welcoming and inclusive community for all Barrington residents, especially for those who experience discrimination and marginalization." According to the town, members will provide recommendations for inclusion and equitable policies and support multiculturalism through initiatives, education, and outreach.

Other open vacancies on town boards and commissions include the following:

  • Economic Development Commission: three vacancies
  • Resilience and Energy Committee: three vacancies
  • Senior Services Advisory Board: one vacancy
  • Zoning Board of Review: one vacancy
