Barrington Restaurant Servers Get $2,100 Tip
Three servers at Bluewater Bar & Grill were left a $2,100 to split among them.
BARRINGTON, RI—Three servers at Bluewater Bar and Grill in Barrington were left with a $2,100 tip on November 20, adding another generous participant to the "2020 Tip Challenge".
During the evening shift, a couple insisted that the servers, Melissa Jordan, Shannon Donahue, and Karen Richards, wait to close the tab until after they left, surprising them with the generous tip to split among them and a note on the back of the check that said, "Hope this will help you all. You all have a nicer Xmas."
"This was so unexpected," Jordan told WJAR. "He specifically referenced the waitress challenge and thought this was the perfect time and opportunity to take care of the people that he really enjoyed. He considers us family."

All three servers said that the extra money came at a perfect time, according to WJAR. They all have young children at home and said it will help them take care of their families during the upcoming holidays.
"There was definitely a lot of tears, very humbling for such generosity. He was standing outside, and he had flashed his lights a couple of times to acknowledge that he saw us," Jordan told WJAR.
