BARRINGTON, RI — Barrington Town Beach reopened to swimming on Wednesday after the Rhode Island Department of Health determined that bacteria counts had returned to safe levels.

Barrington Town Beach had been closed, along with Scarborough Beach, on Tuesday.

The RIDOH said it will continue to monitor and review beach water quality regularly to ensure safe bathing throughout the summer. The status of beaches may change as new data becomes available.
