Coronavirus: Barrington Public Library To Close Monday
The Barrington Public Library will close on Monday for one week, has suspended all community meetings and programs through March 31.
BARRINGTON, RI —The Barrington Public Library is canceling all programs and community meetings through at least March 31. The library is also closing entirely beginning Monday through March 20 amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Barrington Public Schools will also be closed all of next week per the directive of Gov. Gina Raimondo on Friday. Online learning procedures may be put in place if schools are unable to reopen on March 23.
April vacation was canceled in conjunction with the closing next week.

Barrington Public Schools released a statement on the state closing announcement and possible online learning guidelines: "Because of our inclement weather calendar, virtual learning, if required by the state, will begin on March 25. At that time, Barrington Public Schools will implement online, virtual learning for PK-12. The protocols for virtual learning have been provided to all staff.
"Educators will be in direct communication via email with their students or families in the case of K-5, to set up the daily schedule, which will mirror the school schedule. All assignments will be provided in Google Classrooms. K-3 Students received their Clever Badges for logging in on 3/13/2020. Here is a link to the directions for Clever.

Virtual office hours will be provided by counselors. Nurses and Specialists will also provide case management during the virtual learning period. Please see an overview of the plan here."
