Detours On Nayatt Road For Upcoming Construction
RIDOT representatives said a $3.9 million project will address 1.8 miles of Nayatt Road from Washington Road to Rumstick Road.

Construction starting Monday removing deteriorated pavement on Nayatt Road will cause detours, the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) announced Friday. Drivers should also expect to drive over some bumpy surfaces during construction.
RIDOT representatives said a $3.9 million project will address 1.8 miles of Nayatt Road from Washington Road to Rumstick Road. The project begins at the Washington Road end, and will use a technique called pavement reclamation for improvements.
Pavement reclamation means the base of the roadway is reconstructed to provide a long-lasting repair, RIDOT announced in a press release.

Pavement reclamation will be underway into November, followed by placement of a base course of pavement to provide a good riding surface through the winter months.
Next spring, construction will resume with minor drainage work and a milling of pavement from Collins Court to Rumstick Road. Near the end of the project in Summer 2019, a final top coat of pavement will be applied.
