Obituary: Normand D. Jalbert, 80, Owner of Jalbert Pharmacy

Jalbert, Normand D., 80, of Barrington, RI passed away on June 28, 2016. He was husband to the late Eleanor (Croghan) Jalbert and son to the late Felix Jalbert and late Blanche (Jodoin) Jalbert.

Mr. Jalbert was owner of Jalbert Pharmacy where he worked as a pharmacist for over 30 years. He was also a member of the RI Pharmaceutical Association. He and his wife enjoyed ball room dancing and family vacations. They traveled across the country, to Ireland, Canada, and the Bahamas. Mr. Jalbert was an avid Red Sox fan and, as a young man, tried out for the Boston Red Sox. Earlier on in his life, he was a coach and served on the Board of Directors for Barrington Little League.

He leaves three sons Donald Jalbert of North Providence, Kenneth Jalbert of Cumberland, and Thomas Jalbert of Barrington, and one daughter Maryanne Tashian of North Providence. He was the father of the late Robert Jalbert and brother to the late Raymond Jalbert and late Maurice Jalbert. Besides his children he also leaves behind seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday July 6 at 8:45 AM from Smith-Mason Funeral Home, 398 Willet Avenue, Riverside, RI 02915, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Luke’s Church, 108 Washington Road, Barrington, RI at 10 AM. Burial to follow at St. Ann's Cemetery in Cranston, RI. Calling hours are Tuesday July 5 from 4 to 7 PM.
