Summer Car Theft Attempts Plague Barrington
Police said theft attempts "has been an ongoing theme all summer long," urge residents to lock cars at night.

BARRINGTON, RI — A series of vehicle theft attempts has plagued Barrington all summer.
Barrington police said the attempts to steal things from unlocked cars "has been an ongoing theme all summer long" and was attempted again this weekend at about 4:30 a.m. on Middle Highway.
"Luckily these vehicles were locked," Barrington police said. "Please lock your car doors every night and take all valuables inside your home."

Barrington police said in late June they were also investing attempts to steal items from cars in East Providence and Barrington.
