Trump Picks Barrington Native & Portsmouth Abbey Grad for Press Secretary
President-elect Trump has chosen Sean Spicer to be his press secretary. Spicer is a Barrington native.

BARRINGTON, RI — Sean Spicer is President-elect Donald Trump's choice for press secretary, his transition team announced. In a tweet, Spicer called his new role "an amazing honor."

Spicer, 45, is a Barrington native with school ties to Aquidneck Island. He was graduated from Portsmouth Abbey and also holds a master's degree from the Naval War College in Newport, according to published reports.
He has been the Republican National Committee's chief strategist and its communications director for the past five years.
