COVENTRY, RI — A car burst into flames on Lincoln Avenue in Coventry on Monday afternoon. The fire is believed to be accidental and no one was injured.

According to Coventry police, the car, a 2006 Volvo, burst into flames around 2 p.m. A mechanic was test driving it at the time. The cause of the fire is not believed to be suspicious and no injuries were reported.

The fire was quickly extinguished by Coventry firefighters, shown in video taken by a bystander.

The fire came just days after Volvo announced a massive recall. The recall was unrelated to the fire, as it only applies to vehicles manufactured between 2014 to 2019.
