CCFD Board to Hold Informational Session Tonight (and 4 More Things)

Varsity Revue Auditions: Coventry High School students interested in showing off their talents are invited to audition for the CHS' 2013 Varsity Revue variety show. Auditions will be held today, Oct. 10 after school in the auditorium. Bands must submit a tape of their act no later than the close of school on Friday. Each person trying out for the show must have a signed permission form with them at the time of their audition. Forms may be obtained from Mrs. Tracy or in the main office.

CCFD Board Meeting: Members of the Central Coventry Fire District Board of Directors will meet at 7 p.m. tonight in the Town Hall Annex auditorium (1675 Flat River Road) to host an informational presentation about regarding the upcoming CCFD Annual Financial Meeting scheduled for Oct. 21 and ongoing district business.Â
Elks Fall Pitch Card League: The Coventry-West Greenwich Elks Lodge (42 Nooseneck Hill Rd., West Greenwich) will host its Fall Pitch (Hi-Lo-Jack) Card League tonight and each Thursday at 7 p.m. Cost is $5 per person per week. All adults welcome. At the end of the season, prizes will be handed out at an Awards Dinner. For more information, call Denise at 226-5053.

Ray Wolf at NEFA:Â Tonight, Oct. 10 from 7-8:30 p.m., New England Farm and Artist, located at 1112 Main Street in Coventry, will host local author Raymond A. Wolf. He will be talking about and signing copies of his latest book, Coventry, which covers the history of Coventry's 15 villages. Click here to learn more! Plan Ahead - 'Shocktober' at Paine House: Register today! At 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, members of theWestern RI Historical Society invite the public to experience a Shocktober event with spirits of Paine! (Paine House Museum of course, located at 7 Station Street.) Special guests include Andrea Perron, author of House of Darkness House of Light; Chris Rodina, author of Vampires of New England and Ghosts Ships of New England. $20 admission fee includes ghost tours of Paine House and the Pine Grove Cemetery by RISEUP, local ghost stories, folklore and refreshments.
