Ryan Curtis of Coventry received a $1,500 scholarship from the Rhode Island Association of Former Legislators Scholarship Fund at the Rhode Island Foundation. A member of Coventry High School’s Class of 2014, Curtis was recognized for his dedication and contributions to public service.

The fund provides scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are Rhode Island residents and have distinguished themselves with outstanding public service. The students must have volunteered significant time and effort to community service to civic, religious, nonprofit or other organizations in order to enrich their community.

The Rhode Island Foundation is the largest and most comprehensive funder of nonprofit organizations in Rhode Island.  In 2013, the Foundation made grants of more than $31 million to organizations addressing the state’s most pressing issues and needs of diverse communities. Through leadership, fundraising and grantmaking activities, often in partnership with individuals and organizations, the Foundation is helping Rhode Island reach its true potential.
