Coventry High Principal May Be Leaving For Westerly

Michael Hobin will become the new principal at Westerly High, according to the Westerly schools superintendent.

COVENTRY, RI -- Coventry High's Michael J. Hobin, will become the new Westerly High Principal, according to Dr. Mark Garceau. Garceau, the Westerly schools superintendent, made the announcement in a tweet on Wednesday. But the Coventry schools superintendent declined to comment on the report.

According to the Coventry office, the school committee has not yet approved Hobin's departure. They are meeting tonight. It is customary for the school committee to approve any personnel changes, the office said.

The Coventry superintendent, Craig Levis, said he will comment on Thursday after the school committee meets.
