Coventry Little League Blasts Australia In Consolation Game

The New England representatives had no trouble with the team from down under.

Tommy Turner had four hits, runs, and RBIs and Will Owens tossed 2 2/3 scoreless innings in leading Coventry's Little League World Series team to a 15-0 win over Australia in a consolation game in Williamsport.

Owens got the victory after relieving Turner, who started the game by striking out the only batter he faced.

Coventry, which was representing New England in the tournament, notched 10 hits. Noah McParlin had two hits, two runs, and an RBI.

Coventry had lost Saturday to the Midwest representative.
