Coventry Man Slams Into Ex-Girlfriend's Car: Police Allege

A 24-year-old Coventry man and his ex-girlfriend were injured after he allegedly drove his car into her car.

COVENTRY, RI – Geoffrey Warburton, 24, of Coventry, was arrested Thursday after allegedly driving his car deliberately into another driver. The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. near 27 Old North Road. A 911 call alerted police who investigated and determined Warburton and the woman victim had dated each other. Police determined he caused the collision.

Both Warburton and the victim suffered minor injuries. They were treated at the hospital and released. However, he is being held at the state prison as a bail violator. At the time of the crash Thursday, he "was out on bail after being arrested on April 20" for Domestic Strangulation and other offenses, police said. The same woman was the victim.

On Friday, he appeared in district court where he was charged with Domestic Felony Assault, Driving to Endanger Resulting in Injury, and Violation of a No Contact Order, police said. He is due back in court July 31.
