Coventry Middle School Schedules Locker Pickups

COVENTRY, RI — The administration of Alan Shawn Feinstein Middle School of Coventry has developed a plan for students to retrieve any belongings left in the school at the beginning of the coronavirus shutdown. Custodians have been hard at work, Principal Joseph Lucian said, and all lockers have been cleaned out, with items bagged and labeled with each student's name.

The school will be holding three pick-up dates for each grade level, broken down by classes. Students and parents are asked to follow the schedule to make sure the process goes smoothly. At the designated time, enter the campus from Maple Street, driving around the main office circle to the wall in from of the school. School employees will be there to deliver bags to vehicles, with no need to leave the vehicle. Everyone is asked to wear a mask, and 6 feet of distance will be maintained between each person.

The schedule for pickup is listed below, followed by the procedure for returning textbooks.

Sixth grade: May 26 (Rain date June 4)

• 6A: 8:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
• 6B: 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
• 6C: 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
• 6D: 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Seventh grade: May 27 (Rain date June 1)

• 7A: 8:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
• 7B: 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
• 7C: 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
• 7D: 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Eighth grade: May 28 (Rain date May 29)

• 8A: 8:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
• 8B: 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
• 8C: 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
• 8D: 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Algebra books can be dropped off on May 28 in a labeled bin near the main entrance of the school. Books can be dropped off after locker items are picked up.

Library and classroom library books can be returned when locker items are picked up. A labeled bin will be placed near the entrance ramp. Books can be dropped after locker items are retrieved.

A plan to distribute yearbooks and spring pictures will be determined after Lifetouch informs the school that they are ready. An email will be sent with this information at a later date.
