Coventry Police Looking To ID Armed Bank Robbery Suspect

COVENTRY, RI — Coventry police are looking for the public's assistance in identifying the man who robbed a bank at gunpoint Monday morning.

The robbery happened around 11:10 a.m. at the Bank Newport at 730 Centre of New England Blvd. According to bank employees, the man was heavy-set and white, between five feet four inches and five feet, seven inches, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. He took an unknown amount of money and left in a white vehicle with darkly tinted windows.
