Coventry School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Coventry is August 30 for all grades except kindergarten, which begins on September 5. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Coventry Public School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 8/28: Teacher/SRP Orientation
• 8/29: Professional Development (Required)
• 8/30: First Day of School

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/5: First Day of School for Kindergarten
• 9/19: Early Release - HS Only

October

• 10/9: No School (Columbus Day)
• 10/10: Early Release - HS Only
• 10/20: No School for Students (Professional Development - Required)

November

• 11/13: No School (Veteran's Day)
• 11/21 - 11/22: Half Day for Students (Parent/Teacher Conferences)
• 11/23 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Recess)

December

• 12/5: Early Release - HS Only
• 12/25 - 12/29: No School (Holiday Recess)

January

• 1/1: No School (New Year's Day)
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Day)
• 1/23: Early Release - HS Only

February

• 2/6: Early Release - HS Only
• 2/19 - 2/23: No School (Winter Recess)

March

• 3/27: Early Release - HS Only
• 3/30: No School (Good Friday)

April

• 4/5: Parent/Teacher Conferences (Full Day for Students)
• 4/6: Half Day for All Students Grades 1-12 (Elementary Parent/Teacher Conferences)
• 4/16 - 4/20: No School (Spring Recess)

May

• 5/8: Early Release - HS Only
• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/12: Last Day of School
