Coventry Voters To Go To The Polls For May 4 Special Election

Polls will be open a from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. for in-person voting.

COVENTRY, RI — Coventry voters will go to the polls Tuesday to cast their ballots to fill the Town Council vacancy for District 4.

Voting by mail and early, in-person voting have been underway for weeks. The emergency voting period ended at 4 p.m. Monday.

Any voter who has not yet returned their mail ballot can do so until 8 p.m. on Election Day. Completed ballots can be place in secure election drop boxes around the state, or hand-delivered to the Rhode Island Board of Canvassers at 2000 Plainfield Pike, Suite A in Cranston.

On Election Day, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters can find their polling place and view a sample ballot using the Secretary of State's website.

"Local elections have a tremendous everyday impact on your life and the lives of your friends and family," Sec. Of State Nellie Gorbea previously said of the special election. "This is your chance to shape part of your community for years to come.
