Fireworks Near Me: Coventry Moves Display To July 5

Patch has your complete guide to Fourth of July fireworks shows, parades and other celebrations in and around South County.

COVENTRY, RI — Amidst a dreary, chilly 4th of July weekend, the Johnson's Pond Civic Association made the call Saturday to reschedule their fireworks display to Monday evening, in the hopes of better weather.

"Visibility is a concern with the cloud cover," Association President Marc Lemoi said in a statement. "Logistically, once the Fireworks are loaded in the morning, they must remain dry, which presents many challenges. A lot of hard work and fundraising has been put into this event, and we want to provide you with the best chance of success."

The display can be viewed from all around Johnson's Pond, and a good view is usually possible from Coventry High School, as well.
