Gaspee Days Festival Canceled: Coronavirus In RI
The annual traditional will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the burning of the H.M.S. Gaspee in June 2022.

WARWICK, RI — A beloved Rhode Island tradition will not be held this year due to the new coronavirus. Over the weekend, the organizers of the Gaspee Days announced that the annual festival will not be held this year.
"It is with a heavy heart that the committee announces the cancellation of our 2020 celebration," a statement posted on the event's Facebook page said. "The work of our Gaspee Days Committee will continue and we will be back in full force for 2021."
All of the festival's events have been canceled, including the arts and crafts fair, road race and parade.
