Lane, Road Closures Coming To 3 Warwick Bridges
Construction is planned for three bridges in Warwick starting the week of June 10.
WARWICK, RI — The Rhode Island Department of Transportation has announced road and lane closures for three Warwick bridges, starting next week. The closures are scheduled to last until the end of this year. During construction, crews will perform maintenance repairs to the Coronado Road Railroad Bridge, Collingwood Railroad Bridge and Gorton Railroad Bridge.
The $10.1 million, four-bridge project includes repairs to concrete, bridge joints and other construction. All of the railroad bridges carry traffic over Amtrak railroad tracks. Here's what to expect on each bridge.
The Coronado Road bridge, located in the area of Jefferson Boulevard and Post Road, near T.F. Green Airport. The bridge will be completely closed to traffic from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Sunday through Thursday nights. While the bridge is closed, traffic will be detoured along Post Road or Jefferson Boulevard to get to Route 37 or Interstate 95, as well as nearby Main Avenue. Local traffic will be allowed on Post Road up to Imera Avenue. During daytime hours, on weekends and on holidays, the bridge will be completely open to traffic.
