Latest RI Forecast Flood Warning: Kent, Bristol & Parts Of Providence Counties

The National Weather Service this morning issued a flood warning for Kent, Bristol and Southeastern Providence counties.

COVENTRY, RI — The National Weather Service this morning issued a flood warning for Kent, Bristol and Southeastern Providence counties. A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring, the Taunton, Mass., office said. "Do not drive through roads or underpasses that are flooded. Avoid flooded areas near small streams and move to higher ground immediately."

At 8:55 a.m., the National Weather Service in Taunton has issued a Flood Warning effective until 11 a.m.

"Doppler radar indicated another area of torrential rain moving into the region. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen earlier this morning. This next area of additional heavy rain will result in areas of urban street flooding, especially in the typically prone locations.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...Providence, Warwick, Cranston, Pawtucket, East Providence, Coventry, West Warwick, Johnston, North Kingstown, Bristol, Barrington, Swansea, Seekonk, East Greenwich, Warren, Scituate, West Greenwich and Prudence Island.
