Canceled - CCFD Court Hearing: The Central Coventry Fire District hearing scheduled for today, Monday, Dec. 2, at 9:30 a.m. at Kent County Superior Court in Warwick, has been canceled. Check back with Coventry Patch for a rescheduled court date as it becomes available.

Canceled - Child Advocacy Presentation: The Coventry School Department-sponsored forum entitled, "Effective Advocacy For Your Child", scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2 at the School Administration Offices has been canceled.
Zen Drawing at NEFA: From 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, New England Farm and Artist (NEFA), (1112 Main Street), is offering a introductory class on "Zen Drawing". Participants will learn the basics of finding focus and contentment through the art of drawing with a fine pen and paper. Fee is $20 per person which includes materials, instruction and a kit to take home to continue practicing. Coventry Christmas Tree Lighting: Join the festivities Wednesday evening at the 24th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting at the Coventry Community Center! The event begins at 5:45 p.m., just in time for Santa's 6:00 arrival! Sing Christmas carols with the Pawtuxet Valley Community Chorus and enjoy cookies while witnessing the lighting of the town's new Christmas tree which was only lit for the first time last year!
18+ Bingo: The Coventry Senior Center (50 Wood St.) will hold Bingo this and every Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. The cost is $4 plus Specials. All are welcome, but must be 18 years and older to play.
CPD Safety Event: From 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, the Coventry Police Department will hold a free Child Seat Installation and Kids Workshop at Walgreens, located at 875 Tiogue Avenue.
CPD Application Deadline: Applications (with all required documents and $20 testing fee) for the Coventry Police Department police officer eligibility list are due by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6. Click here for more information, application and documents.
