Normand E. Bacon, WWII Veteran, Dies at 85

A sports enthusiast and loving family man, Normand E. Bacon died on Tuesday, June 25, 2013.

Normand E. Bacon, 85, formerly of Coventry Drive died on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at home. He was the beloved husband of Claire (Groslouis) Bacon with whom he celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on January 21, 2013.

Born in West Warwick, a son of the late Camille and Florina (Broulliard) Bacon, he lived in Coventry most of his life. He was a World War II United States Army veteran. He worked for 42 years as a polisher employed by Gorham Manufacturing, Providence.

He loved sports. He was an avid Boston Bruins fan; he followed the New England Patriots and was a follower of horse racing. While working at Gorham's he coached a company team in a men's hockey league.

His funeral service was held Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, in West Warwick. A burial with military honors was help in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.
