Ruth J. (Johnson) Jackson, 96 of Bowen Hill Rd. in the village of Greene, passed away on Sunday morning, October 18, 2015.

Ruth J. (Johnson) Jackson, 96 of Bowen Hill Rd. in the village of Greene, passed away on Sunday morning, October 18, 2015 at the Alpine Nursing Home.

She was the wife of the late David H. Jackson. Born in Warwick, Ruth was the daughter of the late Iver and Ellen (Erickson) Johnson.

Over the years, Ruth was very much involved in her Community. She taught Rug Braiding at the Greene Library, she was a founding member of the Wanttoknowhow Garden Club, the West Greenwich homemakers, and she played piano at the Greene United Methodist Church where the late Maxwell Mays officiated.

She was the mother of Robert L. Jaeger and his wife Jacqueline of Greene, and Al Jaeger Jr. and his partner David Friedler of Deerfield, NH. Ruth was the stepmother of David E. Jackson and his wife Margie of Warwick. She was the grandmother of Matthew Jaeger and Elizabeth Tattrie, and the great-grandmother of Lilly Anne Jaeger, Willow Mae Jaeger and Easton Jaeger-Tattrie.

Visiting hours are Saturday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 am, with a Service at 11:00 am in the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St., (Rte.117) Coventry. Interment in the Hopkins Hollow Cemetery in Greene. In lieu of flowers, donations to Gentiva Hospice, 2374 Post Rd., Ste. 206, Warwick, RI 02886 will be appreciated.
