Rep. Nardolillo To Skydive For A Cause Sunday In Newport

Rep. Nardolillo is raising money to fight pediatric cancer and help the Dorian J. Murray Foundation.

MIDDLETOWN, RI —On Sunday, July 16, State Rep. Bobby Nardolillo (R-District 28 Coventry) is swapping his bow-tie for a parachute. Along with family and friends of the late Dorian J. Murray, he will jump out of a plane at the Middletown airport to bring attention to pediatric cancer and raise money for the Dorian J. Murray Foundation.

Dorian was diagnosed with Stage 4 Rhabdomyosarcoma shortly after his 4th birthday, according to the press release. During his battle Dorian not only inspired his family and friends with his bravery and courage, but also inspired an entire nation. Shortly after learning that his cancer was no longer responsive to treatment, Dorian told his father he wanted to be famous in China, at the Great Wall. A simple Facebook post caught the attention of the world and what was once a family used slogan became an internet sensation; #Dstrong went global.

After he died in 2016, his parents created the foundation to help others dealing with pediatric cancer.

Nardolillo. “On Sunday, July 16th, I will jump in Dorian’s honor, raising money for heroes just like him,” said Nardolillo. “Dorian’s mom and dad will be at the event as we all help keep Dorian’s memory alive,” he added.
