Barbs Hill Road Bridge Closing For Construction June 19

The Barbs Hill Road bridge, located near the Foster line, will be closed until mid-fall.

COVENTRY, RI — The Rhode Island Department of Transportation will be closing the bridge on Barbs Hill Road for construction four about four months starting June 19. During construction, the bridge will be closed to traffic as crews completely replace the bridge, which is considered structurally deficient.

The bridge, located in the Western part of the town, carries traffic over the Moosup River near the Foster line. Approximately 100 vehicles use the bridge each day, which has a weight limit of three tons.

During construction, traffic will be detoured to Potter Road or Plainfield Pike to Moosup Valley Road.
