What To Know About Getting The Coronavirus Vaccine In Coventry
Starting the week of Feb. 14, limited vaccine appointments will be available to residents 75 years and older.
COVENTRY, RI — Starting later this month, Coventry residents aged 75 years and older can begin receiving coronavirus vaccines, the town announced Tuesday. Vaccines will be administered by online appointment only.
Beginning the week of Feb. 14, the town will receive 240 doses per week from the Rhode Island Department of Health for elderly residents.
Appointments have already been allocated for Coventry's vaccine pilot program, which included 170 doses for residents 75 and older. These vaccines will be administered before the rollout of the weekly vaccination schedule begins, the town said in a statement.

Going forward, appointments will be available for sign-up on the town's website. Elderly residents who cannot sign up themselves online, or do not have a family or friend to assist them, can call Covnetry Human Services at 401-822-9175 for help. Once all appointments for the week are filled, the link will close. The town will send a CodeRed notification when the link becomes active.
"We will repeat this process weekly for as long as we receive the doses," town officials explained in a statement.

The vaccine clinics will be held at 1675 Flat River Road, in the building that houses the school administration building.
The vaccine appointments will only be open to Coventry residents 75 years old and older. Anyone who signs up without meeting these requirements will have their appointment slot revoked.
Any resident who has an appointment will be guaranteed a vaccine. On the day of the clinic, arrive at the scheduled time, not early or late to avoid crowding.
"The Town of Coventry is committed to this life-saving vaccination program," town officials said. "Please understand the Department of Health determines the number of doses we receive. Please be patient and wait until the next allocation if all the appointments are taken."
