Yard Waste Pickup Returns To Coventry April 5
Residents are asked not to leave their yard waste at the curb on trash day until then.
COVENTRY, RI — The weather is finally turning springlike in Rhode Island, leading many homeowners to start clearing a winter's worth of leaves and debris from their yards. In Coventry, residents are asked not to put their yard waste out for collection until the first week of April.
"Our drivers are noticing bags out already, we are taking note of addresses and we will not collect bags that have gotten damaged in weather as a result of them being placed curbside three weeks too early," the Department of Public Works said in a post on Facebook.
Residents who don't want to keep bags of yard waste sitting around until pickup begins aren't out of luck, however. Yard waste can be dropped off, free of charge, at the transfer station. It's open Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a half-hour closure from noon to 12:30 p.m.
