Rhode Island Rents Are Slowly On The Rise: Report

New data from Apartment List show the average one-bedroom apartment costs $967 per month.

PROVIDENCE, RI — New data from Apartment List shows what anyone who has tried to rent an apartment in Rhode Island knows: rents are on the rise. The median price for a one-bedroom is now just under $1,000 per month, the organization said.

Compared to the rest of the country, Rhode Island's year-over-year rent increases are modest at just 0.6 percent, compared to the national average of 1.4 percent. Mesa, Arizona saw the largest rent increase, jumping five percent over the last year. The Las Vegas metro area comes in at a close second.

According to the report, the median cost per month for a one-bedroom apartment in Rhode Island is now $967, while the median rent for a two-bedroom apartment is $1,170.
