Florida Man Charged With Molesting Child in Cumberland

Chad Lavallee sexually assaulted a child in 2016 and 2017, the Office of Attorney General Peter Neronha alleges.

CUMBERLAND, RI — A Florida man accused of sexually assaulting a child in Cumberland has been indicted by a Providence County Grand Jury.

Chad Lavallee, 36, has been charged with three counts of first-degree child molestation and two counts of second-degree child molestation, the Office of Attorney General Peter Neronha announced.

The alleged acts occurred on dates between January 16, 2016 and March 16, 2017.

The Cumberland Police Department conducted the investigation. The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on April 7, 2021 in Providence County Superior Court
