Sen. Pearson Bill Would Create RI Climate Resiliency Fund
The measure is up for a vote by the Senate Environment and Agriculture Committee.

PROVIDENCE, RI — A bill sponsored by Sen. Ryan W. Pearson (D-Dist. 19, Cumberland, Lincoln) would establish the Ocean State Climate Adaptation and Resilience Fund.
The fund would enable municipalities and the state to apply for grants to improve public safety and community climate resilience for coastal habitats and for river and stream floodplains.

The Senate Environment and Agriculture Committee has scheduled a vote on the measure Wednesday. The 4 p.m. hearing will be streamed live by Capitol Television at http://www.rilegislature.gov/CapTV/Pages/default.aspx.
Written testimony must be mailed to slegislation@rilegislature.gov by 2 p.m. Wednesday to be provided to the committee and be included in the meeting records. Requests to provide verbal testimony must be submitted by 4 p.m. Tuesday (June 22) at this link.
