Anthony A. Gomes: Former EP Resident, Material Supervisor for CP Kelso Co.

Anthony A. Gomes, 60 of San Diego, California and formerly of East Providence died Friday, Nov. 1, 2013 at his home, according to the Perry-McStay Funeral Home. 

He was the husband of Trudy (Sulpacio) Gomes. Born in Providence, he was a son of Mariana (Rodrigues) Gomes of East Providence and the late Abel Gomes.

Tony was a material supervisor for C.P. Kelco Company for the last 37 years.  He was very active in the Barrio Logan Community in San Diego, was a softball coach and a member of the Southern California Cape Verdean community.

Besides his wife and mother he leaves two daughters, Rayna M. Gomes and Maya G. Gomes both of San Diego, two brothers, Mingo Gomes of Providence and Abel Gomes, Jr. of Florida. 

His funeral will be held Saturday, 8 a.m., from the Perry-McStay, 2555 Pawtucket Ave., East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Martha’s Church, Pawtucket Avenue. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday 4-8 p.m.
