Bay View Indoor Track Team Wins Silver

The team captured two silver medals at the state meet.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI - From St. Mary Academy - Bay View: Two St. Mary Academy - Bay View indoor track athletes earned silver medals at the Rhode Island Interscholastic League’s Indoor Track and Field State Championships. Aliya Barrows (East Providence, RI), a junior at St. Mary Academy - Bay View placed 2nd in the girls 600 meter run with a time of 1:38.56, and senior Noelya Delacruz (Providence, RI) placed 2nd in shot put with a toss of 37 feet 11.25 inches, setting a new school record. Aliya and Noelya will move on to New Englands, where they will be joined by teammates Hanna O’Connor (Exeter, RI), Olivia Granatiero (Cumberland, RI), Isabella Kopech (Warwick, RI), Caitlyn Murphy (Warwick, RI) and Emma Shaw (Warwick, RI) who also qualified in their respective events. The team tied for 6th place overall out of 23 teams who competed.
