Body Of Missing Man Found In East Providence

Dennis Lonardo Sr. had been missing since early March.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — The body of an East Providence man who was reported missing over a month ago was found along the waterline Tuesday morning, reported WPRI.

Dennis “Mousey” Lonardo Sr., 61, was reported missing on March 5 after he slipped and fell into the water near the East Providence Yacht Club. First responders conducted a search from March 6 through March 8, but were unable to locate him.

Lonardo's body was found at approximately 10 a.m. Tuesday when a woman walking near the East Bay Bike Path in the area of Veterans Memorial Parkway reported seeing a possible body.

Lonardo was identified by a tattoo on his left arm, which was later confirmed by a family member.

The state medical examiner is currently investigating the cause of death, but foul play is not suspected.
