City Of East Providence Hiring Firefighters, EMTs

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — East Providence is currently recruiting firefighters and EMTs to join the city's emergency response team this summer.

Hired workers will be given a salary of between $55,477 and $66,276 and expected to perform skilled firefighting work in combating, extinguishing, and preventing fires, provide medical assistance at emergency scenes, and operating and maintaining fire department equipment.

The following is a list of applicant requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years of age by July 30th, 2021.
• Must be a United States Citizen and furnish a birth certificate or certificate of naturalization.
• Must possess and furnish a copy of valid driver’s license.
• Must possess a High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
• Must successfully complete the Rhode Island Association of Fire Chiefs Physical Performance Assessment (PPA) (PPA certifications obtained within one year of the application end date will be accepted).
• Must be able to obtain Rhode Island Emergency Medical Technician Basic Certification while attending the East Providence Fire Academy.
