East Providence Announces Three-Year Road Work Project

East Providence officials announced their plan to repair streets around the city over the next three years.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — The City of East Providence has announced a three-year plan to repair the city's roads. Construction on the first phase will begin in mid-April in the area of Taylor Drive.

"The city will begin the process of much needed improvements to city’s streets and roadways," Mayor Bob DaSilva said. "The process of our roadway improvement plan will commence this month and we are asking that the community be patient during this multi-year process."

The Department of Public Works will be working with Pawtucket Hot Mix Asphalt during construction. The city worked with National Grid during the planning process to ensure work will not interfere with the company's planned projects in the area. The city has not said how much the project will cost.
