East Providence To Begin Vaccinating Seniors Age 75 And Older
The first vaccine clinic for eligible senior residents is set to open Monday at the East Providence Senior Center.
EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — The City of East Providence opened its first vaccine clinic for senior residents age 75 and older at the East Providence Senior Center on Monday and announced three additional upcoming vaccination dates.
The East Providence vaccine clinics are currently only open for eligible seniors, who can register online for open appointments on Friday, Feb. 26, Monday, March 1, and Monday, March 8. Those who need assistance registering can call the city's COVID-19 hotline at 401-533-9812.
All East Providence vaccine clinics will adhere to the COVID-19 safety guidelines outlined by the Rhode Island Department of Health, including mask-wearing and social distancing. Those who are not feeling well or in quarantine for COVID-19 are asked to stay home and reschedule their appointment.

Residents who have a confirmed appointment are asked to comply with the following vaccine clinic guidelines:
- Individuals should arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before their appointment.
- Individuals should bring a form of identification that provides proof of age and residency.
- Please follow the signs for the clinic entrance and enter through the entrance doors.
- Upon arrival, individuals who enter the clinic will undergo medical screening and will be required to wear a mask.
- If individuals are sick or in quarantine for COVID-19, they are encouraged to stay home and book a new appointment.
- The vaccination process will take about 30-40 minutes, which includes an observation period.
- A clinic volunteer will work with you to book your second appointment while you wait during the post-vaccine observation.
East Providence seniors who need a ride to their appointment can fill out a Transportation Request form. Those who are unable to leave their home can request an in-home vaccination through the state's health department.
