EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — This Veterans Day, the Boys & Girls Club is holding a special fundraiser to install a new flagpole and commemorative plaque honoring local veterans. The flagpole and plaque would be located at the Boys & Girls Club in East Providence. The funds are being raised through GoFundMe.
According to the fundraising page, the old flagpole is in disrepair and would be removed. The new flagpole would be dedicated to veterans from the local community. The GoFundMe page states that 2,335 veterans live in East Providence, so the goal is to raise $2,335 in recognition of them.
By Saturday evening, the page raised $700 in four days.
