East Providence Cooling Center Open Through Heat Wave

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — East Providence will keep its cooling center at the East Providence Senior Center on Waterman Avenue open daily until at least Tuesday afternoon.

The city announced on Monday it will keep the cooling center open both days until 5 p.m. as temperatures are forecast to reach the upper 90s.

The cooling center opens at noon each day.

Those who use the site are required to be masked and bring their own form of entertainment or activity such as a game, work or book. While there is a temperature-controlled environment, there is no food available at the site.
