EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — A group of Rhode Island middle school students at The Gordon School recently participated in Moderna's adolescent vaccine trial, which began last December for kids ages 12 to 17, reported WPRI.

Following the successful trial, Moderna announced Tuesday that that its COVID-19 vaccine offers strong protection for adolescents in that age group and plans on submitting its trial data to federal regulators in June.

If the results are approved, the Moderna vaccine will be approved for adolescents.
