East Providence Officially Opens Splash Pad Park

Come cool off at Onna Moniz-John Park in East Providence.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — Friday was a scorcher, the perfect kind of day to spend playing in the water. The hot weather was perfecting for officially opening East Providence's new splash pad park at Onna Moniz-John Park.

City officials gathered at the park, located between Central Avenue and McCausland Avenue, on Friday morning.

"We all know what this park means to everyone in the community," said Mayor Bob DaSilva, praising the work of Onna Moniz-John, for whom the park is named, for her continued commitment to the community. "It wouldn't have been possible without her stewardship and her championing the park."
